We're sorry the blog post is late but that is because today has been an eventful day.

Yesterday evening we decided that we would spent our day off (the museum is closed on Mondays), at the Isle of Wight as we both wanted to visit it. We took the ferry at Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde, Isle of Wight and off we went. The distant views of Portsmouth were absolutely amazing and we were both in awe with how beautiful the city we're staying at is.

When we arrived we took the bus to our first stop, Seaview. A cosy and nice village near the sea. When we took a path that lead us along the seaside we found some very pretty shells! We jumped from one rock to another and enjoyed the sound of the waves crashing into the rocks

An hour later we took the bus to Bembridge, one of the following places we went to visit. By now it was almost noon, which meant lunch time! Near our bus stop was a supermarket so we grabbed some food and took it with us while walking to the seaside. There we got to enjoy an amazingly pretty view which everything even more delicious.

From Bembridge we went to Sandown. In our opinion this was our least favourite place we visited today. Even though it was still pretty and calm, we missed something. We walked in the sand next to the sea enjoying dogs running up to us asking us to play and once again the calming sound of the water.

Next up was Ventor. Ventor is quite a hilly city so we had to climb up quite a few times. But apart from the fact that it was very tiring it rewarded us with some fantastic views! With it having a small pier leading you deeper into the sea you got to enjoy the white cliffs and the beaches even more.

And last but definitely not least we went to Freshwater. Freshwater was the place we both looked forward to visiting! First we climbed up a little bit and even from there the views were already breathtaking! We both decided it was a good idea to go even further up the hill and so we did. We climbed for about half an hour up those hills and we will never forget the sight and feeling that was waiting there for us! We can both say that (even though the sun was already gone) this was the most beautiful place we have ever visited in our life! We had a perfect sight over the island, the sea, England, and we think even France (we're not sure though)! It was so amazing we really can't put it into words because it is not only what you see but also what it makes you feel, standing there high up those hills overlooking the beautiful Island with it's pristine nature!
We can not tell you how much we love the Isle of Wight and how badly we fell in love with it. We both are certain that we will be back visiting it with out families once just to show them what we have got to experience. Even though the ferry and the day ticket for the bus might be quite expensive it is definitely worth it and you will not waste any money!
PS: The reason because of which the blog post is this late is because we have missed our last bus from Freshwater so we had to walk for 30 min into the town and there we could still catch a bus. This bus arrived too late in Newport so we missed our connection to Ryde. Because we missed/ the bus was running late we had to take a later ferry than expected. When we arrived in Ryde we had to wait for 45 minutes until the next ferry would arrive as from 19:45 they only run hourly instead of half-hourly. Nonetheless we returned safely home by 22:00 instead of 8:30/ 9:00. We are very sorry for the delay.
We hope you still enjoy our blog post and if you get the chance to visit the Isle you definitely should!
See you tomorrow!
